Armando Montelongo is best known as one of America’s premier real estate investors. He stars with his wife, Veronica, and son, Armando “Mando Man,” on A&E’s hit show, Flip This House. In less than 5 years, Armando has catapulted his career into a multimedia empire. His multi-million dollar real estate investment business continues to thrive, flipping a staggering 25-30 houses a month, while he travels around the country motivating new investors at his Flip and Grow Rich seminars. He acts as a mentor for millions through the TV show Flip This House, his new book, FLIP AND GROW RICH: The Heart and Mind of Real Estate Investing, and his coaching and mentoring program, Flip and Grow Rich. Armando was born in San Antonio, Texas in 1970. He was the seventh of eight children.

In 1986, when Armando was sixteen, the real estate market and the economy in Texas took a dive. Armando watched many of his friends and neighbors move from their homes because they could not make a living in San Antonio anymore. This was a profound time for Armando. He learned some things about real estate, but mostly, he learned that he wanted to live his life independent of a shifting economy. He realized that he wanted a different life where his success would bring him security.

After graduating from high school, Armando decided against going to college and began searching for a way to make his boyhood dreams come true. In the summer of 1994, he went to California to visit some friends and there he met the love of his life, Veronica. After some chasing by Armando, Veronica finally gave him her phone number. Over the next three years, Armando and Veronica spent hours on the phone, and made several trips to California, building a friendship that would last their whole lives.

Shortly after their marriage, Veronica became pregnant. It was a difficult pregnancy and resulted in both mother and child spending significant time in the hospital due to complications. These circumstances created a financial dilemma for Armando and soon he had to foreclose on their home. After Veronica and “Mando Man” could leave the hospital, they moved into Veronica’s parents’ garage.

This was the lowest moment for Armando and it didn’t take him long to decide that something had to change. He moved his family back to San Antonio to live with his parents until he could get back on his feet. Shortly after moving to town, he found his first real estate deal. That deal started an obsession that continues to this day and has not only made him very successful in the real estate business, but also the TV business. Armando and his family still live in San Antonio where the TV show is based. Although he still flips houses, he spends most of his time teaching others about his success and how they can create their own.
